TOMA is coordinated by a small team:

Paige Ockendon
Art School Lead
paige@toma-art.com

Emma Edmondson founded TOMA in 2016 and was Art School Lead until 2026, dreaming, organising and delivering TOMA for 10 years.

Paige Ockendon was part of the 2019/2021 TOMA cohort and stayed on as a TOMAssociate until joining the team in 2026.

Emma and Paige both work part-time for TOMA.

TOMA is also uplifted by the ever-supportive TOMA board and a network of supporters, freelancers, organisers and advisers who inform and promote our work.

SUPPORT TOMA

TOMA is organised as an independent not for profit. In order to exist, we rely on contributions from TOMA artists as well as public and private funding, individual supporters and patrons.

TOMA is a proper art school that exists for people who have are overlooked by the conventional system. In an era where art schools across the UK are closing or pricing people out, your support can make sure that artists from every background have a place to belong and grow in Southend.

TOMA offers a space where artists can develop their practice, be taken seriously, and not do it alone.

It doesn’t take much to keep that going.
