Stories With Consequences with Laura Trevail

BOOK HERE: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/151798993877

Interactive, text-based storytelling with Twine.

In this workshop, you will be equipped with the resources to create interactive stories where your readers’ choices determine their outcome. We’ll get started with the open-source, online tool “Twine”, and along the way pick up skills and techniques for approaching any new technology as a creator.

Our precarious future depends on the choices we make today. Let’s build new mechanisms to tell useful stories about that. Now. Together.

This workshop will run remotely on Zoom to support ongoing maximum accessibility for everyone who finds it difficult to get to venues in person for any reason. You are welcome to dial in individually, or in groups from your own location.

Suitable for adults who are curious about exploring digital creativity but a bit edgy about how to start! No prior knowledge needed, except being comfy using your own device to access Zoom and an internet browser.

 You will need:

  • An internet connection.

  • A laptop/computer running Google Chrome browser. (You can use Twine on other browsers and devices, but the experience can be very different. If you are happy to muddle through, you are welcome, but we won’t have time in this workshop to troubleshoot these issues).

  • Zoom  - download the desktop version for access to all features.

LAURA TREVAIL BIO:

My work is to listen to the context of a place, a problem, a need or an idea, and to craft that information into practical experience, opportunity and solution. I am an artist weaving actions in connected technology, innovation and transport, with traditional theatre, written and visual art practice. I seek to play an active part in building a brave, exciting, kind, practical and exceptionally well functioning future for all of us. My training and background is in theatre, writing, sculpture, data relationships, human behaviour, horror, connected devices and value exchange. They play together well.
